Rural Marshalltown - Volunteers searching for Kevin Kroener, a 52 year-old rural Marshalltown man who has been missing since last Saturday, September 6, 2014, discovered the body of a man in the Iowa River north of Marshalltown, IA.
The searchers notified the Sheriff's Office of the discovery at approximately 5:00 PM Saturday evening (9/13/14). The body was later recovered with the assistance of the Marshalltown Fire Department rescue boat and transported to the Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center morgue. Marshall County Medical Examiner, Dr. David Bethel, will cause the body to be submitted to the State Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy.
Positive identification has not been made; however, circumstantially, the body is presumed to be that of Mr. Kroener, who was last believed to have been swimming in the Iowa River near Albion, Iowa and later reported missing by his family.
