Bomb Threat clears Marshall County Courthouse

Marshalltown, Iowa - Marshall County Authorities evacuated the Marshall County Courthouse, following the receiving of a voice-mail threat. 

Shortly before 9:00am Monday morning (09/12/2011), Marshall County Sheriff's Deputies and Marshalltown Police officers responded to the Marshall County Court House after an employee there had reported having received a bomb threat to the court house facility.

An immediate action plan was implemented and the court house was evacuated. A thorough search of the building was conducted by authorities. Nothing suspicious was located and the court house was cleared for business again by 10:30 am.

The preliminary investigation showed that a phone call message was left recorded on the voice mail of one of the officials on Sunday, September 11. Specifics of the call are not being released at this time, and the Sheriff's Office is conducting a follow-up investigation of the incident.
