Big K-Mart - Marshalltown - Sheriff Ted Kamatchus announced today that the Marshall County Sheriff's office will be sponsoring a child safety seat checkpoint at the Big K-Mart in Marshalltown. The checkpoint will take place on April 16th, from 1:00-3:30 p.m.
These checkpoints offer an opportunity for the public to come and have their seats checked for proper installation, for any recalls, and to offer reassurance to parents that while transporting their children they are doing so as safely as possible.
With Iowa's new child safety restraint laws citizens who currently has a safety seat installed in their vehicle, or expectant parents who will be putting seats in their vehicles are encouraged to attend. Literature on selecting a child seat, as well as proper installation will also be available. An alternative date will be announced for inclement weather.
