Marshall County Iowa - Law enforcement authorities conducted four raids during the early morning Thursday, September 11, 2008, in Marshalltown, and rural Marshall County. A total of seven people were arrested for various felony and misdemeanor methamphetamine and meth-manufacturing related offenses.
Raids were conducted at the following locations: 209 S. 4th Ave., Apt. #3, Marshalltown, two persons were arrested and charged as follows:
At 1426 Wallace Ave., Marshalltown, three persons were arrested and charged as follows:
At 2236 B Highland Acres Road, Marshalltown, one person was arrested and charged as follows:
At 405 W. Church St., Apt. #3, Marshalltown, one person was arrested and charged as follows:
All subjects were jailed pending initial appearances in court. The arrests were prompted by an investigation into purchases of pseudoephedrine medicine, with the assistance of local pharmacies. Pseudoephedrine is a primary ingredient used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine.
The Mid-Iowa Drug Task Force was assisted in this investigation, by the Mid-Iowa Narcotics Enforcement Task Force (East branch) the Tama County Sheriff's Office, the Marshall County Sheriff's Office, the Marshalltown Police Department, and the National Guard Counterdrug Support program.
The Mid-Iowa Drug Task Force operates in Grundy, Hardin, Marshall and Tama Counties and is funded through a federal grant from the United States Department of Justice, and the Governor's Office of Drug Control Policy.
