Have you been approached for a hug?

August 20, 2007

Local Marshall County Convenience Stores - The Marshall County Sheriff's Office is asking local citizens for assistance in a series of investigations involving possible illicit contact.

The Sheriff's Office has recently been investigating reports involving younger female individuals who have been approached at local area convenience stores by a white male in his late 30's to early 40's. These incidents have involved the male asking for hugs from female individuals who are exiting the store.

Sheriff Ted Kamatchus stated, "We become concerned anytime we hear about strangers approaching citizens in a manner that would be considered inappropriate. The motivation for that individual to become so bold has to be strong and we fear that it may just be a prelude to more serious offenses."

If this has happened to you or someone you know please contact the Marshall County Sheriff Office at 641-754-6380.
