Local man arrested on warrants

LeGrand - A Legrand man was arrested on warrants Friday evening, 2-8-13 relating to the report of items taken from a storage building in the north part of Marshall County. 

The report was made with the Marshall County Sheriff's Office on 2-4-13, involving property taken from 1204 Newby Ave., rural Liscomb.

Sheriff's Deputies took Jonathan Robert Thompson, age 29, of Legrand, into custody in the 900 block of W. Main St., in Legrand. He was jailed on $25,000.00 cash bond. Thompson remains in custody at the time of the release.

Thompson was charged with:

  • Ongoing Criminal Conduct, a Class B Felony ( punishable by up to 25 yrs in prison and/or a fine )
  • Burglary 3rd Degree, a Class D Felony ( punishable by up to 5 years in prison and/or a fine)
  • Theft 2nd Degree, a Class D Felony ( punishable by up to 5 yrs in prison and/or a fine )

The stolen property included a hydraulic arm from a farm sprayer, and a metal tank. The items were recovered in Jasper County after the Sheriff's Office followed up on an inquiry regarding some possible stolen property. Investigation is continuing.
