MIDTF Serves Narcotic Search Warrant

On January 17th, 2025, investigators with the Mid-Iowa Drug Task Force served a narcotics search warrant at 109 N 2nd St, Marshalltown, Iowa.

As a result of this investigation, four suspects were arrested and jailed on various criminal drug charges:

Linda Smith, 55 of Marshalltown

  • Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance w/ Intent to Deliver (meth) B -Felony
  • Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Substance (Marijuana) 2nd Offense – Aggravated Misdemeanor
  • Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Substance (Psilocybin Mushrooms) 2nd Offense – Aggravated Misdemeanor
  • Failure to Affix Drug Tax Stamp – D Felony
  • Prohibited Acts – Aggravated Misdemeanor
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Damien Ritter, 29 of Marshalltown

  • Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance 3rd or Subsequent Offense (meth) D - Felony
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Prohibited Acts – Aggravated Misdemeanor

Bradley Moeller, 33 of Marshalltown

  • Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance 2nd or Subsequent Offense (meth) Aggravated Misdemeanor
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Shelby Powell, 29 of Marshalltown

  • Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance (meth) Serious Misdemeanor
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Investigators conducting a search of the residence uncovered evidence of drug use and distribution. Authorities seized approximately sixty grams of suspected methamphetamine, along with marijuana, psilocybin mushrooms, a firearm, and various drug-related paraphernalia.

Smith and Ritter were also arrested on outstanding criminal warrants linked to a prior investigation from October 2024. During that investigation, the Mid Iowa Drug Task Force executed a narcotics-related search warrant at the same residence, seizing approximately 250 grams of methamphetamine, along with marijuana, psilocybin mushrooms, and evidence of drug use and distribution.

The Mid Iowa Drug Task Force executed the search warrant with assistance from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, Marshalltown Police Department, and the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement.

The Mid-Iowa Drug Task Force is funded by a grant, through the United States Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance, and the Governor's Office of Drug Control Policy.

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office wishes to remind everyone that a criminal charge is merely an accusation, and a person charged with a criminal offense is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law
