Eastman Avenue, rural State Center, Iowa - A rollover accident north of State Center resulted in a fatality early Monday evening.
At approximately 4:45 PM, the Marshall County Communications Center received a 911 witness report of a tractor semi-trailer that had left the roadway on Eastman Avenue, approximately two-miles north of State Center.
The preliminary investigation indicates that the driver of a commercial vehicle leased to Mid-State Milling, Inc. of State Center was northbound on Eastman Avenue and left the roadway while negotiating a curve near Main Street Road. The unit entered the east ditch rolling over onto its side.
The State Center Fire Department and First Responders, as well as Colo Rescue were dispatched to the scene to extricate the driver, who was unfortunately pronounced dead at the scene.
The Sheriff's Office was also assisted by State Center Police and Iowa D.O.T. Motor Vehicle Enforcement.
The name of the driver is being withheld pending notification of relatives.
