320th St and Lafayette Ave in rural Marshall Count - At 05:28 hours on August 4th, 2011 Marshall County Deputies were dispatched to the intersection of 320th Street and Lafayette Avenue in reference to a motor vehicle accident.
Upon arrival, Deputies found a Brown 2008 Ford pickup truck just west of the intersection. It was apparent that the pickup had been traveling southbound on Lafayette Avenue, just north of the intersection with 320th Street, when it drifted off the west side of the road going into the ditch where it began rolling over multiple times until it ultimately came to rest upon the roadway of 320th Street.
Melbourne First Responders, MAPS ambulance service along with the Fire Departments from Melbourne and Marshalltown were on scene. E.M.S. personnel determined that the driver was deceased upon their arrival and Deputy Medical Examiner Mark Bethel was called to the scene to confirm.
The driver and owner of the vehicle: Victor Kenneth Veren , Age 57, of Rural Melbourne, Iowa
This case has been turned over to the Marshall County Medical Examiner's Office for further investigation into determining the cause of death.
