2483 Oaks Ave - At about 8:40am this date, Marshall County Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched to the 2400 mile of Oaks Ave, regarding a complaint of trespassers on the property.
It was determined that farmers arriving to do field work surrounding a vacant farmstead located at 2483 Oaks Ave, had interrupted unauthorized persons on the property. Two witnesses initially chased the suspect vehicle occupied by three suspects. Two of the suspects fled the car on foot near the east bound on-ramp for Hwy 30 by Oaks Ave. They were ultimately detained by the two witnesses who had called 911 for assistance.
Deputies arrived, and took custody of the two suspects and the subsequent investigation led to charges. Arrested were:
Both men were charged with:
Criminal Trespass, a simple misdemeanor, and Burglary 3rd Degree, a Class D felony, and were being held on bond pending an initial appearance.
Information gathered from the investigation showed that the two suspects were engaged in taking copper wire and metal from the farmstead.
The Sheriff's Office is seeking a 3rd suspect who fled in the suspect vehicle. The vehicle is described as an older mid-size station wagon, with wood grain panel on the sides, possibly green and light tan or cream in color.
Anyone with information regarding the incident, the third suspect, or suspect vehicle, should call the Marshall County Sheriff's Office @ 641 754-6380 or the Communications Center @ 641 754-5725.
