Marshalltown - Search Warrants result in two pounds methamphetamine seizure.
Law enforcement authorities served two search warrants in Marshalltown on Thursday morning resulting in one arrest and the seizure of approximately two pounds of methamphetamine.
Pursuant to the warrants, a suspect's vehicle was stopped and searched, in the 100 block of N. Center Street. The search resulted in the methamphetamine seizure and the arrest of the driver of the vehicle. Arrested was:Maria Rodriguez-Bonilla, age 26, of 305 Lee St., Marshalltown, IA.
Rodriguez-Bonilla was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Deliver, a Class B Felony, a violation of the Drug Tax Stamp, a Class D Felony, and Child Endangerment, an Aggravated Misdemeanor. She was jailed on the charges and later bonded out of the Marshall County Jail.Search warrants were served at 305 Lee St., and at a local business, Novedades Jaqueline, at 104 N. Center ST. Officers seized packaging materials, documents, one car, and over $10,000.00 cash from the two locations. The street value of the methamphetamine seized is estimated at approximately $90,000.00
The investigation was a cooperative effort involving the Mid-Iowa Drug Task Force, the Des Moines Police Narcotics Unit, and the DEA. The Task Force received additional support from the Marshalltown Police Department, and the National Guard Counterdrug Program.
The Mid-Iowa Drug Task Force is funded by a Bryne-JAG grant, through the United States Department of Justice, and the Governor's Office of Drug Control Policy. The task force operates in Grundy, Hardin, Marshall and Tama Counties.
The investigation is continuing.
