Rural Marshall County. Iowa -Ames Man Injured in Farming Accident

On October 9, 2023 at approximately 3:44 PM Marshall County Deputies were dispatched to 1449  Binford Avenue for a report of a man’s arm being stuck in a farm implement.  When deputies arrived, Steven Truckenmiller, 71, of Ames Iowa, was located at the residence.  As a result of the accident, several of Mr. Truckenmiller’s fingers had been amputated.  Deputies applied a tourniquet to control the bleeding until first responders arrived on scene. 

Mr. Truckenmiller was transported by air ambulance for advance care. 

Marshall County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Clemons Fire Department, State Center First Responders and Fire Department, Unity Point Heath Ambulance, and Life Flight Air Ambulance.
