3000 mile Garwin Road - On December 5, 2006 at 11:46 p.m. the Marshall County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to the 3000 mile of Garwin Road in reference to a vehicle being in the ditch and on fire.
Upon investigation it was determined that this was a single vehicle accident involving one occupant. The occupant was found to be deceased and in the vehicle. The body was badly burned. An autopsy is being conducted today to try and determine identification and cause of death. The Marshall County Medical Examiner is involved in the investigation.
The Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Iowa State Patrol along with the Green Mountain Fire and First Responders.
At this time the incident is still under investigation.
